Gold Signals — Every XAUUSD Signal, Its Reasoning and Its Result

A gold signal here is a complete, timestamped XAUUSD trade proposal: a direction, an entry, a stop that defines the risk, and a target. This page explains how each one is produced, shows the signals that are live now, and links to every signal ever generated — the losing ones included.

What the Gold signal system is

Prile publishes a rule-based system that watches XAUUSD (spot gold against the US dollar) continuously and decides, on a five-minute decision cycle, whether any of its rules has a valid setup. It trades a simulated account. It is a research system with a published record, not a subscription service and not advice.

A "signal" here is not an opinion about where gold is going. It is a specific, complete trade proposal: a direction, an entry, a stop that defines the risk, and a target — all produced by a named rule whose conditions were all satisfied at that moment. If any condition fails, there is no signal, and the refusal is recorded.

How a BUY or SELL signal is generated

Every candidate rule is evaluated against the same market reading each cycle. A rule produces a signal only when all of its gates pass. The gates fall into five groups:

1. Higher-timeframe direction

Weekly, daily, four-hour and one-hour structure are scored together into a single direction reading, graded from strongly down to strongly up. This is a measure of structure and momentum — where closes sit inside their ranges, whether swings are progressing, whether the weekly and daily agree — not a count of red and green candles. The current reading is shown below.

2. Liquidity and location

The system maps the day's reference levels: the Asian session high and low, the previous day's extremes, the previous week's extremes, and the confirmed hourly swings. A level that price reached through and then gave back is treated differently from a level price is simply trading beyond. Location matters because selling near the low of a move and selling into a rejection from the high of the day are not the same trade.

3. Session

Gold behaves differently across the Asian, London and New York sessions, and around the daily maintenance break. Rules are restricted to the sessions where their logic applies.

4. Volatility and cost

Risk is defined as twice the 15-minute ATR, so a stop is sized to the market's current movement rather than to a fixed number of points. A setup is refused when the spread is too large a fraction of that ATR — measured round-trip friction on this account is about 0.19R, and a trade that cannot clear its own costs is not worth taking.

5. Fresh confirmation

Finally the entry itself must be confirmed on the lower timeframes — a break that holds, a pullback that turns, a swing that forms. A directional view without a trigger does not become a trade.

A signal is not a guarantee of profit

This distinction is the most important thing on this page, so it gets its own section.

A signal is a proposal with a defined risk. It says: these conditions were met, so this trade is worth taking, and if price reaches this level the idea was wrong. It does not say the trade will win. In the record published here, a substantial share of signals lose, by design — a system with a stop loss must lose sometimes, and one that never did would be hiding its losses somewhere else.

What can be judged honestly is the distribution: how much is made when the system is right, how much is lost when it is wrong, and how much of a winning move it actually keeps. Those numbers are on the performance page, including the unflattering ones.

Every figure on this page comes from a simulated account. Simulated results are a record of what a system did, not a promise of what it will do. Nothing here is investment advice, and no result is guaranteed.

Common questions about these gold signals

What does a gold signal contain?

A direction (BUY or SELL), an entry price, a stop loss, a target, the rule that produced it, the session it was taken in, and the time it was opened — all recorded before the outcome is known. When it closes, the exit price, the reason it closed and the result in R are added. Nothing is filled in afterwards.

Are the losing signals published too?

Yes. Every signal that is opened is kept, and the signal history shows losers next to winners. A record with the losses removed would not be evidence of anything.

How many gold signals are there per day?

It varies, because the system only acts when a rule's conditions are all met. Some days produce several; some produce none. There is no daily quota, and no signal is created to fill one. When there is nothing valid, today's page says so.

What does R mean?

R is the result measured in units of the risk that was taken. A trade that made three times what it risked is +3R; one that hit its stop is about −1R. Measuring in R lets trades of different sizes be compared honestly. There is more on this in the risk management guide.

Is this a signal subscription service?

No. It is a research system with a public record. Nothing is sold here, there is no paid tier, and none of it is financial advice. The account is simulated, so no real capital is at risk in the results shown.

How is the win rate calculated?

Closed signals only. Positions that are still open are never counted in the win rate or in realised results — they are shown separately as floating. The full calculation is set out on the methodology page.

Which strategies produce the signals?

Pullback entries with the trend, confirmed pullbacks, breakout continuations, trend continuations and reversal setups. Each signal names the rule that produced it, and the market analysis page shows the readings those rules are working from.
